Private Study Club Series

Hosted by Dr. Deweese of Nashville Dental Implants and Laser Periodontics

Taught by Tosha Kozloski, RDH — Founder of TOSH (Teaching Oral Systemic Health)

Join us for an exclusive, in-person study club series designed to elevate patient care, team collaboration, and clinical confidence. Each session brings practical, science-driven training to help your entire team rethink their approach to periodontal and implant health.

Beyond Maintenance — Elevating Implant and Hybrid Care Most implants fail for the same reason natural teeth do: pathogenic bacteria. Explore how to confirm a site is truly healthy before placement, support the microbiome after, and sustain long-term success.

Full Course Description:

The majority of implant failures happen for the same reason natural teeth fail—periodontal pathogens. Yet many implants are placed into sites that look healthy but remain microbiologically unstable. This course reframes implant success through a biologic and microbial lens, focusing on how to confirm site health before placement and how to sustain it long-term. Participants will learn how to assess biological readiness, identify microbial imbalance, and use modern technologies to detect risk before breakdown occurs. Whether managing implants or hybrid prosthetics, you’ll gain clarity on what true maintenance looks like in a microbial world—and how to preserve stability for the life of the restoration.(June 5, 2026) 4-CEs

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Explain how the oral microbiome influences implant integration and long-term stability.

  2. Evaluate implant site readiness using biological and microbial indicators rather than visual assessment alone.

  3. Identify the presence and risk factors of periodontal pathogens associated with implant and hybrid failure.

  4. Incorporate current technologies to detect microbial imbalance and guide individualized maintenance strategies.

  5. Redefine implant maintenance through a preventive, biofilm-centered approach that preserves long-term health and function.

*Each course builds on the others—but every session stands strong on its own.

Wildcard Session — It’s up to you!

A final session shaped by you. Dive deeper into the topics that matter most—from biofilm interpretation to communication mastery—based on feedback from the series. (Sept 18, 2026) 4-CEs

Full Details: (TBD June 2026)

This final session is built by you. Based on feedback from previous classes, the Wildcard course will expand on what attendees most want to learn—whether that’s advanced microscopy, biofilm interpretation, verbal calibration, or refining modern infection therapy. Every topic connects back to what drives better outcomes: understanding the microbiome, improving communication, and elevating patient care through practical science.
